Museum of Chinese in the Americas - New York City - Museums

Located in the heart of Chinatown, on the second floor of a century-old school building, this museum is dedicated to "reclaiming, preserving, and interpreting the history and culture of Chinese and their descendants in the Western Hemisphere." Past exhibitions include "Have You Eaten Yet? The Chinese Restaurant in America" and ongoing is "Many True Stories: Life in Chinatown on and after September 11" which chronicles how that tragedy affected the structure of the neighborhood.

i,

Thanks so much for featuring us in your travel blog. Unfortunately, we are undergoing a move and have closed our current museum space to the public, since Feb 18th.

However, we are hosting historical and cultural walking tours around Chinatown by appointment. (212-619-4785)

Please visit our website for more details. Thanks again!
