Rodolphe Menudier - Paris Shopping

This boutique elevates shoe buying to an artistic experience akin to a visit to a high-tech, postmodern museum. The black-lacquer and brushed-stainless-steel decor includes one wall sheathed in silver-painted leather and another entirely faced in slate. These high-glam grace notes provide a backdrop for a small collection of stylish, but relatively conservative, men's shoes and a large collection of both standard and fetishistic shoes for ladies. Expect an inventory with footwear designed either for the office or, say, a prolonged schlep through the streets and museums of Paris. But if you're in the market for frighteningly high spike heels, in colors that include gold, silver, or outrageously patterned fabric, or the kind of high-altitude platform shoes that are definitely not for anyone with vertigo, this shop might be for you. Open Monday 11am to 7pm; Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 7pm.
